How Hypnotherapy Works

Hypnotherapy is Rapid Change Therapy

Think of your mind and your thought patterns as falling into 2 categories: your conscious and your subconscious. Our conscious mind is intelligent, but it only has the capacity to focus on about 10 things at a time. Our subconscious is where our habits reside.

During hypnosis, we bypass the conscious mind and speak directly to the subconscious. Harnessing the subconscious creates effective new patterns which support healthy, positive thoughts, feelings and behaviors empowering us to reach our greatest potential.

It is solutions-based and goal-focused. Hypnosis can be effective for many problems, habitual behaviors, and anxieties. Problems are solved efficiently and with positive and healthy outcomes. Hypnosis is an effective way to modify behaviors/beliefs/patterns that consciously you have not been able to conquer.

Hypnotherapy Facts

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a powerful state of focused awareness that can be used to uncover and dissolve the root cause of many issues people suffer from every day. Hypnosis allows you to access all the healing resources inherent within the subconscious mind, promoting natural healing from within.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes. Actually, you’ve already been hypnotized the many times you watched an engrossing movie or read a good book. Hypnosis is a normal and natural state of mind that everyone has already experienced. It is important that you want to be in a hypnotic state and are open to the experience. All you need is to be willing and able to follow gentle instructions for reaching a state of focused awareness.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the applied use of hypnosis. Hypnosis is used to help people discover the subconscious reasons for their symptoms, behaviors, or habits. When they are discovered, certain tools and techniques are used to help release them and relearn a new positive way of thinking, subconsciously. This is called hypnotherapy.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis works by empowering you to change and reframe subconscious beliefs and patterns.

When in a hypnotic state, your conscious brain is in a relaxed yet focused state of awareness that more readily allows the subconscious brain to be available for suggestions that will help disconnect old behavior controls and critical thoughts. This is why changing habits by willpower alone is so difficult – we often already believe we can not change, so thinking about making the change happen is ineffective.

What's it like to be hypnotized?

Hypnosis is a heightened state of focus and concentration. Though the experience can be different for each individual, hypnosis typically feels as if you are in a very relaxed or trance state, almost as if you were in the state just before falling asleep.  You are 100% aware and conscious and you can NOT be made to do anything you would not normally do. Your morals, values, and ethics are strongly in place throughout the process.

What is a typical session like?

A typical session lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. We start with an interview to discuss the issue and desired outcome. The actual hypnosis is approximately 20-30 minutes. Sessions are personalized to meet the goals for the individual client.
